Some moments mark us for life, those defining moments when everything changes. I remember mine, clear as day. It wasn’t in the perfection of my life. It wasn’t when I was at my best. It was when I was lost. When I had no idea where I was going or if I was even worth saving or loving. But then, in a single moment, heaven found me. God didn’t wait for me to be perfect. He didn’t wait for me to get it all together. He found me right where I was: broken, unsure, and desperate for something more.
And when heaven breaks through, it changes everything. The day Christ found me wasn’t just another day,it was the day everything shifted. Heaven collided with my reality, and I was never the same again.
This past Sunday, Pastor Flavia asked us to remember that very moment. “Do you remember the day Christ found you?” The moment when you realized you weren’t just another face in the crowd? You were seen. You were loved. The Creator of the universe chose you. That’s what the Kingdom does. It takes us as we are, broken and imperfect, and restores us to a place of purpose. It’s not just about salvation; it’s about transformation. It’s a higher standard, a new identity, a shift in how we live and how we love. When the Kingdom touches your life, it’s not just a change; it’s a revolution.
Pastor Flavia reminded us of the Apostle Paul and how Epaphras, who encountered the Gospel in Ephesus, couldn’t keep it to himself. He carried that message to Colossae, and a church was born. That’s what happens when the Kingdom becomes real to you, you don’t hold it in. You share it. You can’t help but tell someone about the love that found you. Because the reality of the Kingdom of God cannot be communicated by someone who hasn’t encountered it personally. It flows from a deep conviction and a living witness, a testimony of “this is where I was, this is what God did in me, and this is where I am now.” It’s not just head knowledge, it’s heart transformation.
Then Pastor Raphael took us deeper into the reality of the Kingdom through the powerful story of the four lepers in 2 Kings 7. These men were outcasts, rejected by society, living outside the city walls, and with no hope in sight. But one day, they made a choice: they could either sit in fear and die where they were or step out in faith and see what lay ahead.
“Why stay here until we die?” 2 Kings 7:3
They chose to move. And when they did, they discovered that God had already gone before them. The enemy’s camp was empty, and the land was full of provisions, gold, silver, food, and abundance. They found what they never expected, something far beyond what they could have hoped for. God didn’t just meet their needs; He exceeded them. That’s the Kingdom. When we dare to move, even in weakness, we find out that God has already made a way.
And when they realized the fullness of what God had done, the lepers said,
“We’re not doing right. This is a day of good news, and we are keeping it to ourselves.” ,2 Kings 7:9
How often do we find ourselves stuck, not realizing that God has already gone ahead of us, preparing the way? The lepers moved by faith, and what they found wasn’t just survival,it was abundance. The land wasn’t empty; it was overflowing with blessings. And that’s what happens when we step out in obedience.
“Now to Him who can do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine” Ephesians 3:20
God doesn’t just restore what was lost; He blesses us beyond what we could imagine. He opens doors that were once shut and fills our lives with treasures, both seen and unseen. All He needs is our yes, our willingness to move in faith.
Kingdom reality isn’t just about getting by; it’s about thriving, growing, and living in the abundance of God’s provision. When we move in faith, God meets us with blessings that overflow. Our God is a God of restoration, of abundance, of more than enough, But we have to take the first step. We have to move. We have to believe that what He has prepared for us is more than just enough to survive, it’s more than we could ever ask or think.
As we stepped into 2025, our theme, Pursue. Overtake. Recover., takes on new meaning. It’s the heartbeat of the Kingdom. In 1 Samuel 30:8, when David was in a crisis, he asked God, “Shall I pursue?” And God answered, “Pursue, for you shall surely overtake them and without fail recover all.”
This is the Kingdom of God at work. It’s not about sitting back and waiting for things to happen. It’s about pursuing the promises God has spoken over your life. It’s about stepping out in faith, moving with boldness, and knowing that victory is already guaranteed. When you move, God moves. Your breakthrough is on the other side of your boldness. Your victory is on the other side of fear. When you take that step of faith, you’re not walking alone. God is with you every step of the way.
And if you’ve never experienced this kind of change, if you’ve never felt heaven reach down to meet you in your mess, today can be your day. Jesus is calling you into His Kingdom. He’s inviting you to move, to step out of fear, and to experience the transformation that only He can bring.
If you’re ready to make that decision, pray this prayer:
“Father, I acknowledge that I have fallen short of the purpose and the plan You have for my life. I am a sinner. Today, I ask that You save me, pull me from this darkness into Your marvelous light. From today, I am a born-again Child of God, and I will walk according to His purpose. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.”
If you prayed that prayer, welcome home. You’ve just stepped into the most amazing journey of your life. The Kingdom of God is now your reality. It’s time to pursue. It’s time to overtake. It’s time to recover. And its time to live in victory.
