Jesus has called us all to be the salt of the earth, to bring flavour and impact to the people around us. But how can we truly stand out in a world full of noise and distractions? The answer lies in the story of Abraham, who found his divine moment by serving others and showing generosity, even in the face of adversity. By following his example and fixing our eyes on Jesus, we too can become kings with no crowns and unlock blessings beyond our wildest dreams.
Abraham, in Genesis 14:14, put away his differences with Lot and chased after his nephew’s captors. Abraham, unlike many others, did not demand a share of Lot’s wealth but returned all that had been seized. Chasing after Lot’s captors offered Abraham to meet the king of Sodom and Melchizedek, the king of Salem. At that point, God indicated that Abraham was a King with no crown.
Sometimes God creates trouble for your elevation. Abraham would have lost his divine moment had he stayed at home. Your blessings are unlocked after you serve others. Make a difference by unlocking the problems of others. Abraham dined with kings and shared with them, a tenth of everything he had, and was blessed.
By realising that he was operating on the same level as kings, Abraham showed discernment and generosity through his offering. These are traits crucial for the sons of God. Realms are changed by simple actions such as generosity. However, you can have a promise which is not fulfilled. Do not attempt to implement God’s promise with your ability.
Abraham was promised an heir but he attempted to execute God’s word by sleeping with his slave. Even though he was lifted to the ranks of kings, he operated in the realm of servants. Be patient, and do, not implement God’s promises by your ability. Do not look for people’s approval. Fix your eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith, as Hebrews 12.2 says.
