Another kind of Faith

Now Faith is the substance of things hoped for and the evidence of things not seen. Through faith we understand how the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear. Isn’t it amazing how thoughts and ideas are made manifest into visible and tangible things? Ideas and thoughts are not visible nor tangible, but they are as real as the chair I am sitting on. It is a wonder how there’s a whole argument of I cannot believe in a God I cannot see or touch.

It is through faith that we are not only Justified but received as sons of The Most High God and are now able to call him Abba Father. Speaking of fathers, I would like to celebrate my earthly father by being a model of what my heavenly Father is. When I was a child, I asked him for a bike. I really believed I would get, to the point of speaking to sellers and choosing the colour I would want. For years I believed but I did not get it. Years later my dad bought me a car. How much bigger and better is the car compared to a bike. Our God is faithful and just to do exceedingly abundantly above all we expected or believed.

Salvation is a restored relationship between man and his maker, between a father and his sons. Adam used to fellowship with God directly. Because of sin this was destroyed. Trust is being able to be vulnerable with a person, naked and unashamed. The trust shared between man and his wife models what God meant with salvation. Where one’s nakedness and vulnerabilities are shared between just the two of you. As soon as Adam fell, He did not trust God enough to be naked and vulnerable with Him. I strongly believe that at that point of failure if he came naked and vulnerable it would have changed the course of mankind. Adam believed an external party’s description of who God is and forsook his relationship with the Great I AM.

Abraham, father of faith, believed God and it was counted as righteousness. His relentless believe and confidence in What God said He would do. That even in his slight doubt God did what He said He would do. He is Able.

John Maxwell said, “You cannot be the same, think the same and act the same if you hope to be successful in a world that does not remain the same. One thing we all know is that the world is changing and there are three types of people during this change.

  • Those who conform
  • Those who Adapt
  • Those who transform

Conformity is the negative quality of blending in, becoming average, refusing to stand out or capitalize one one’s uniqueness. Adaptability is the positive quality of being able to sense the shift in the wind direction and proactively adjust one’s course to take advantage of that wind shift. Transformation is the supernatural ability to not only adapt but to inform this new course and alter the course itself to the advantage of many. Conformity is based on fear, adaption is based upon confidence in oneself and transformation is based upon the confidence and faith in God.

Children have such an admirable faith. My son has so much faith in me that He knows that if my father says something, he will do it. Faith that is unfiltered and pure. When faith is your only option. Daddy said he will/ God said He will and that is already done. Elijah saw rain in the middle of drought. God showed him that it would rain but, on the outside, there was no cloud in sight. We walk not by sight but by faith. He totally ignored what he saw with his human eyes and the reports of the other people. He told his servant go back again until what he saw on the inside matched what he saw with his natural eyes.

A persistent faith that only believes in who God is. It’s no wonder it says in the song that when the oceans rise and thunders roar, I will soar with you above the storm. Father, you are King over the flood and I will be still and know that you are God. Speaking of songs. There is another song that says, “Take courage when the road is long. Do not ever forget that you were never alone. Some people say faith is a childish game. Well play on children like it’s Christmas day.”

SOME PEOPLE SAY FAITH IS A CHILDISH GAME. WELL PLAY ON CHILDREN LIKE IT’S CHRISTMAS DAY.

God bless you.
