With great power comes great responsibility. Recently I was having a discussion with my wife over office ranks. We concluded the topic with a new revelation that the CEO of a company is held responsible for all the employees and everyone who is under them. In a former blog, I wrote that power is power and not where men perceive it to be. Our worldly system is governed by a principle where men give you or put you in power. The fact is, power is power.
A king has power, not voted in by men but by virtue of who he is. Jesus the King of kings shows us an example of this. When the storm hit their vessel, He stood and commanded the winds and seas to obey. “Peace be still”, and nature obeyed. He spoke to an unfruitful tree and cursed it and immediately the tree dried up and could not produce fruit. Now that is power.
The Bible says, ‘This matter is by the decree of the angelic watchers, and the demand by the word of the holy ones, so that the living may know without a doubt. That the Most High God rules over the kingdom of mankind and He bestows it on whomever He desires and sets over it the humblest and lowliest of men’.
The world we live in today has a lot of injustice. A world full of corruption and greed. Men have fallen to an extent that human life is deemed less valuable than that of a dog. People treat their pets better than they would treat another man. In the United Stated of America the minority are fighting for their lives. Such degradation of life that a black man cannot walk alone without fearing for his life. There is a story of a man who had to take walks with his daughter in order to feel safe. Another black man’s house was raided by thugs but he could not call the police because his house is too nice for the police to believe him to be the owner. A world where people create diseases to gain profits by selling medicine or vaccines. A systemic rot that favours the rich and further deprives the poor. Where betting is on the rise because one is unable to raise capital to start a business. A system created by our leaders that encourages immorality by introducing sex education to our children at an early age rather than teaching them good morals.
During this pandemic, the powers that be choose to demolish houses of the poor and render them homeless. Leaders that choose to use this pandemic to get more funding that ends up in their bank accounts as people lose their lives. When by corruption, the people can only access substandard medical facilities and at the end they perish out of a person’s greed. A leader is given resources for development but steals it and renders the company bankrupt resulting in people losing their jobs. The jobless man has to find a way to put bread on the table and thus turns to crime. For the common man, where do we turn to for salvation if not to our God? There is a lady who sang a song that is titled the Lord is coming, for it is only God who can save us.
The name Jehovah El Elyon comes from two stories but I will only mention one. King Nebuchadnezzar was so powerful that people started worshipping him like a god. His kingdom was great and strong, but one day he had a dream. So, he called for someone to interpret the dream and this is where Daniel comes in. He basically tells the King to repent before God punishes him. Our gracious God gave him 12 months to repent and make things right but his pride would not let him. Immediately what had been said about Nebuchadnezzar was fulfilled. He was driven away from people and ate grass like the ox. His body was drenched with the dew of heaven until his hair grew like the feathers of an eagle and his nails like the claws of a bird. Later this king is restored and he praised The Most High God.
This serves as a wakeup call to those in leadership positions, that God has given you a limited amount of time to repent and if not, just like the song I mentioned earlier, “The Lord is coming.” I will finish by requoting a verse I quoted before. This sentence is by the decree of the angelic watchers and the decision is by the word of the holy ones, to the intent that the living may know that the Most High God rules over the kingdom of mankind and He gives it to whomever He wills and sets it over the humblest and lowliest of men.
God bless you, The Lord is coming.
